The Canon Pixma iP3600 is actually part of the same range as the Pixma iP4600. Do not bring some of the most innovative iP4600 features such as duplexing automatic, yet still able to make an impression.

Setting up was easy. The last step is the manual print head alignment, the most solid-looking printed squares required to select a test print and then writing directly to an adjacent printed on-screen interface. There are three pages of this, which can be quite tiring, but it's well worth it considering it's certainly improves the image quality considerably.

All prints looked great. Even the draft text have been very clear and easy to read, while the lettering to a normal quality was as clear as that produced by the Canon LBP5050 laser printer and a little darker. Fonts as small as 5pt were readable, but a little fuzzy, as normal. paper color prints were great, it was accurate tones and shading in our charts and also on our charts.

We are also in awe of the iP3600's photo printing capabilities. Although the printer functions with only four colors, color and shadow of our image prints were pretty much like the six ink printers we have previously reviewed. Skin tones looked like they were natural, with dark colors and low contrast sections well defined and bright colors were dazzling and remarkable. Clarity and detail of our pictures were in fact among the best we've seen from a budget inkjet, with almost no jagged dithering, graininess, or even the fuzzy edges.
